Senior Game Engineer (Generalist)
Role Overview
We’re looking for a Senior Game Engineer who thrives across the full game stack — from gameplay behaviors, gameplay systems, UI, to procedural content. You’ll take ownership of complex features, collaborate closely with a small team, and make high-impact decisions on a new mobile adventure game built in Unreal Engine 5. Whether you're implementing new player abilities, building meta systems, or implementing UI, your work will directly shape the player experience and the foundation of our first game.
Key Responsibilities
Own and implement features — including gameplay, meta, UI, and systems, within Unreal Engine.
Partner with other engineers to split responsibilities and iterate on features and systems together.
Build modular, scalable architecture to support procedural content and future live service expansions.
Write clean, performant C++ and Blueprint code — balancing speed with long-term maintainability.
Optimize client performance for mobile platforms while keeping cross-platform scalability in mind.
Debug, polish, and adapt features across a wide range of mobile devices and screen sizes.
Who We Are Looking For
8+ years of professional experience in gameplay or systems engineering, with at least one shipped game.
Experience in C++ and Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5).
Proven ability to own complex features from concept to launch.
Understanding of mobile performance constraints — or a strong motivation to learn.
Experience using AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor).
Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across disciplines in a small, agile team.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity, and proactive about finding solutions.
Nice to Have
Experience with procedural generation (levels, biomes, spawns, etc.).
Shipped mobile or cross-platform titles.
Familiarity with mobile debugging tools (e.g., Android profiler, Xcode Instruments).
Background with live service systems or scalable gameplay architecture.
Experience in building modular and dynamic UI and familiarity with UI frameworks in UE5.
What We Offer
Ownership and autonomy in your work, within a collaborative team environment.
Remote-first setup with flexible hours and async-friendly communication.
A high-impact role in shaping the success of our game and our studio.
Location
Finland / EU preferred. We’re open to candidates worldwide, but we prefer candidates based in time zones close to our team. All of our team members work remote regardless of their location.
