About The Role

We’re looking for a People & Finance Advisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is a natural doer, and can confidently take tasks and run with them. This is a highly operational, hands-on role that sits at the heart of our People and Finance functions but also stretches across the business.

You'll work with teammates from every part of Trailmix, building strong relationships and becoming a trusted partner for people, process, and culture. From bringing our values to life to ensuring our operations run like clockwork, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the experience of working at Trailmix.

Reporting into our People & Talent Director, and working closely with our Finance Team and Office Manager, you’ll support and drive cultural initiatives, embody our values, and help create a warm, inclusive, and values-aligned employee experience.

The Day to Day

People Operations, Culture & Engagement

  • Be the go-to for employee queries and day-to-day people guidance across all levels of the business
  • Act as a culture custodian – champion our values in everything you do, from policies to communications to how we support our people
  • Build strong working relationships across teams and become a trusted partner to managers and individual contributors alike
  • Maintain and optimise our HRIS (HiBob) as a superuser – ensure data is clean, workflows are smooth, and improvements are proactively suggested
  • Prepare contracts, offer letters, and other lifecycle documentation with clarity and accuracy
  • Administer and communicate employee benefits (e.g. Aviva, wellness perks, flu jabs, long-service awards)
  • Track and support performance review and development processes
  • Draft, update, and roll out policies that are inclusive, accessible, and reflective of our values and tone of voice
  • Lead or support internal sessions when introducing new policies, tools, or ways of working
  • Maintain and report on employee engagement insights via Officevibe; help spot trends and shape responses
  • Carry out regular RTW checks
  • Partner with the People & Talent Director to develop people metrics and reporting
  • Create engaging internal comms, decks, and people campaigns that reflect our culture and values
  • Contribute to company-wide cultural initiatives and team rituals
  • Collaborate with the Office Manager to deliver a joined-up, inclusive employee experience
  • Support employee relations cases (note-taking, documentation, tracking follow-up actions)
  • Handle ad hoc tasks and cross-functional projects in support of the People & Talent Director

Payroll, Finance & Admin

  • Run monthly payroll with accuracy and care, partnering with our external provider and handling all inputs, checks, and reporting
  • Manage and run our Accounts Payable process via an Accounts Payable system and accounting system
  • Support the Financial Controller with bank recs, VAT returns, fixed assets, and prepayments
  • Track and coordinate insurance renewals (office, travel, directors)
  • Keep our commercial contract records up to date and liaise with legal support as needed
  • Support month-end and ad hoc finance reporting and analysis
  • Stay on top of the admin side of things, with precision and consistency

About You

  • Experience in a People/HR Advisor or People Ops role with a strong operational focus
  • Proven ability to run payroll and manage people data confidently and accurately
  • Solid understanding of People and Finance operations and how they intersect
  • A passion for building positive team culture and enhancing employee experience
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels
  • HiBob superuser (or confident in becoming one quickly); experience with Officevibe and Canva is a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and a proactive mindset
  • Clear and personable communication style - you write policies, emails, and presentations people actually enjoy reading
  • Comfortable leading small group sessions or workshops
  • Growth mindset open to feedback, curious, and always looking for ways to improve
  • Trusted, discreet, and dependable someone the team can always rely on
