The Opportunity

As the Head of Technology, you will hold the most senior technical leadership role at Trailmix and be a core member of the Leadership Team. Your mission is to elevate our engineering excellence, enable world-class game creation, while championing a T-shaped engineering culture that drives innovation across all projects.

As a visionary enabler, not a command-and-control leader, you will own the studio's technical roadmap, guide our strategic direction, and proactively integrate new technologies and advances to define our future ways of working. You will mentor game tech leadership, ensuring our teams have the confidence and tools to build and operate groundbreaking games today and tomorrow.

The Day to Day

• Represent engineering craft and culture in Leadership Team discussions, bringing clarity to technical trade-offs.
• Guide the studio's Technology evolution and own company-level data engineering direction.
• Own the overall studio tech budget, making strategic trade-offs across tools, platforms, and shared investments.
• Manage the Senior Tech Council as a focused, problem-driven forum to align perspectives and surface shared opportunities.
• Act as the default external technical representative for partners and vendors
• Sit with game tech leadership to sense-check decisions, trade-offs, and approaches, coaching on quality, scale, and sustainability.
• Manage IT and studio-wide technical systems, including internal platforms and external partner relationships

About You

• Deep credibility as an engineer, especially in game development, with strong judgment and taste across a variety of engineering practices.
• Experience operating in a scaling game studio, with a strong preference for backgrounds in mobile F2P or live service environments.
• A collaborative leadership style that empowers game-led decision-making.
• A proven ability to mentor, coach, and grow technical leaders, leveraging your experience in influencing others without relying on direct authority.
• Hands-on familiarity with modern game tech stacks, such as Unity, PlayFab, Cloud, or similar systems.
• Clear, thoughtful communication skills, bringing comfort when navigating ambiguity and complex trade-offs across multiple teams or games.
• Demonstrated experience shaping engineering culture at a studio level, championing a "T-shaped" approach that balances deep technical expertise with a broad understanding of game design, player experience, and live operations.
• Broad literacy in AI, Infrastructure and Data ensuring that company technology choices serve long-term game and studio health.

Our hybrid work model combines the flexibility of remote work with the creative energy of being together in person.
